kitties, kitties everywhere!

My husband took an extra day off over Labor Day weekend so we headed off to the big city, Boston.  No trip to Boston is complete without taking in a game at Fenway.  We had tickets to see the Red Sox play the Tigers.  On our way down to the game, we stopped by at our daughter's place to meet her new kitten, Caspian.  I had not been around a kitten in a while so I had forgotten how much fun they are.  He is a very good grand kitten and very friendly.  We visited for about an hour and then headed for the train station.  Heard on the news that NO ONE in their right  mind would drive into Boston this weekend since there are thousands of students moving in so we parked the car at the train station and took the T into Kenmore Square.  We had decided to spend the night in Boston and come back the following day.  The weekend would have been perfect IF the Sox had managed to beat Detroit.

We got home fairly early the next day...plently of time to get some sewing done.  I had made a cat themed apron  over the weekend so I figured in honor of the new grand kitty, I would make some matching hot pads.  Not only is it fun to make cat themed items but I also get to use up some of the pile of scraps I have that go with this wonderful cat fabric.  I fussy cut out 4 cats, 2 of them gray, so they definitely reminded me of Caspian.  Also thought it would be nice to make a couple of cat themed check book covers so I had kitties, kitties EVERYWHERE!
