Gearing up......AND good news

My Goodness, I have to do better, it has been over a week since I have posted to my blog.  Last weekend my DH and I went up to Maine for a little break.  It also gave me a chance to deliver some merchandise to Mainely Quilts in Kennebunk.  It was such a treat to have a weekend that did not involve working...I really needed a break.

Last year a participated in a holiday /seconds sale shop at the Snow Farm which is about an hour and 1/4 from my house.  Since my work did sell I decided to try it again this year in spite of the 40/60 consignment split.  I look at it this way. at least it is going to a nonprofit that teachers all sort of wonder art classes.  I added the fabric baskets to the items I took in this year.  I wanted to have some holiday themed baskets so I make a holly basket to add to the mix.  I delivered my merchandise to them yesterday afternoon.

Last year I purchased some really fine holiday fabric but it never got used.  This morning I got up early and said, today is the day to make that fabric into an apron.  It is always nice when something comes out better than anticipated.  I REALLY like how sophisticated the apron turned out.  I wasn't sure about the striped fabric but once I got the tricolored side done I was very pleased with the  contract between the swirls and the stripes.  I am working the late shift today at the Shelburne Arts Co-op and I will be taking the apron in with me.

That's the gearing up part, now for the good news.  My neighbor Marie applied for membership in the Shelburne Arts Co-op,  Her work was juried at the Tuesday night meeting and ACCEPTED!  YEAH!  She will go to work with me today and I will start training her as a working member.  I am very looking forward to Marie being a member. She will make a great addition to the team~and her work is exquisite.
