Made this maple leaf hot pad this morning.  I found the pattern for it on a this website  http:\\quilting.about.com  I googled maple leaf quilt block and it was one of the sites that came up.  In fact, one can download all sorts of free quilt patterns from this site.  I made a 6" block and then added the dark green batik border which really made the block pop.  The block is representative of the woods this time of year and I think of the border is the conifers.  Since there are several apple orchards in the area my North Quabbin Woods collection would not be complete without and apple hot pad!
