Trip to Apronville
Apron #1 and apron #2 that have come out of the pile of fabric (see previous blog entry). Apron #1 (on the left) uses the turquoise pear fabric on one side and the green fruit punch fabric with a small amount of the lime green pear fabric on the bib and pocket thrown in for good measure. Apron #2 is a tri-colored apron using the same color way but with a bit of a twist. My tricolored aprons usually have a center seam. Since this pear fabric is directional, the scraps were not wide enough to make the tricolored side with two 14-1/2" blocks sew together, It was necessary to use 3 blocks. To add a little dimension and contrast to the design, a crazy block bib and pocket were added. The black pear fabric is left over from the 10 hot pads marathon I went on last week with these fabrics and the tone on tone teal was brought in from a fat quarter found in my stash. The next group of fabrics that will be brought in from the pile of fabrics to play with are the pink and the orange dot so stay tuned!
