Hello Stripes
I have always liked stripes so it was time to try my hand at a stripped coiled basket Since I really like the way this looks, I am sure this will be the first of many more to come. I purchased a medley of 20 fabrics in a jelly roll and took them with me on vacation so that my friend Margaret and I would have plenty of different fabrics to play with when she was there for her visit. I made two almost identical baskets while I was on vacation. I went a little brighter with this one. Some of the fabrics that are in the jelly roll medley found there way into this bowl. Since am probably not the only person who also loves batiks and really enjoys working with them so why not work in a couple of batiks also? My friend Margaret who has made hundreds of these told me that if I put handles on the bowl, it becomes a basket and she has notices (since she has been selling these at shows for about a year) that people tend to really like the baskets so.....that is probably what I will mostly be making. I am doing a local festival the first weekend in October. It is called the North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival and no doubt this baskets will be on display there. I will also, no doubt, be working with a lot of fall colors between now and then. But, one does want to have a wide variety of colors for people to choose from so time to get out those wild geometics I have in my stash!

Hi Dane:
YEAH, things seem to be working A-ok and when I think about the number of items I have actually posted and approved to the blog (about a dozen) and the amount of spam that has tried to post to my blog (276 comments) it kind of blows ones mind but it does seems to be working again.....must be that high colonic I gave it...thanks! Sandy
