4 X 4
A 4 by 4 isn't always a pick-up truck, to me, it's 4 blocks sewn together. This photo shows that where the 4 corners come together, it makes a secondary pattern. Getting all four colors to be represented throughout the quilt top at that intersection, a bit of a challenge This was one of the easiest quilt tops that I have even sewn together since there aren't that many seams to match up and since the kites are all cut out on the bias this makes them very stretchy.
I got an email from Connecting Threads which is the mail order fabric store that I purchased this very baby quilt kit from. I had finished the quilt top and was planning to look for the backing fabric during the January clearance sales that most fabric stores have. I was thrilled to see that some of the fabric from the baby quilt collection was 50% off. .MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME! The green fruit print is what I chose for the backing fabric and it is on it's way. Going to take a few days off from work to focus on the holiday. The question is, will I be able to stand not sewing for a few days...we will see. Here's hoping that everyone's Christmas is merry and bright!
